The logistics of the Ukrainian forces on the front line have been reinforced with the arrival of dozens of heavy Ultra drones, developed for transport and resupply missions.
Produced in the United Kingdom by the company Windracers, the unmanned systems are already operational on the front, supporting the delivery of essential supplies to troops in hard-to-reach areas.
Originally designed for logistical transport, the Ultra has a wingspan of 10 meters and a payload capacity of up to 150 kg, with a range of over 1,000 km. The company plans, in the coming months, an upgrade to the model to enhance performance, raising the payload to 200 kg and the range to up to 2,000 km, in response to the operational demands of the conflict.
With a structure mostly made of aluminum, the drone combines low production costs and ease of field maintenance. Equipped with two engines, a redundant flight control system, and interference-resistant antennas, the Ultra can also perform precision air drops and reconnaissance missions.
Currently, Windracers produces up to 10 units per month and aims to double this rate over the next two years.
